Dispatx Art Collective was created in 2004 by Oliver Luker, Vanessa Oniboni and David Stent. We work with collaborating artists to develop ideas and display works related to specific themes.

The website functions as a rigorous concept-space for the exploration of these ideas and is used both for the exhibition of completed works and as a focus for the exploration and advancement of collective projects.

The website can be found at www.dispatx.com.

Look, I’ll be honest and upfront about this post, if you don’t like Jessica Simpson, you aren’t going to like this blog. Planet Jessica Simpson is a fansite in blog format, without all that silly little text and bizarre graphics you see at your typical fansite.

We cover all the latest in Jessica Simpson news, gossip and pics…and to be honest before I started the site, having been a Jessica Simpson fan, I had no idea how much there was.

Jessica is a lady on the move, and she moves alot in the public sphere so if you want to see the future of fansites, check out Planet Jessica Simpson.

A Movie Every Day

A Movie Every Day

On 12 January 2006, I, Martin Scooter Thompson, committed to my own personal social experiment. I committed to going to see a major motion picture in a real movie theater every day for the next 365 days. This has been done before by the way, so that’s not that exciting I guess. My commitment didn’t end there, however, I also committed to starting a blog and writing a review for each film every day.

I provide, as the first entry to my blog, the history of my film review career (please click here to go straight to that history) and my first review which was for the film, Casanova.

In addition to writing the reviews, I have a unique film rating system called the WIP scale (WIP stands for What I’d Pay). In other words, films are ranked on a scale of $3-$15 according to how much I would be willing to pay to see them on opening day. So, if a film gets a $9, that is the standard rating and means it is worth seeing. Above $9 is definitely worth seeing. Below $9 means that you should wait to see it. This scale provides a lickety quick way of determining if a movie is worth seeing. In addition, the WIP scale for all movies I’ve seen that are currently in theaters is sorted by value. So, if you are thinking of seeing a movie, and you aren’t sure what to see, if you go to the site: A Movie Every Day you can scan the WIP scale for current movies and see how I have ranked the movies you might most want to see. If you’re not sure about a film, click on the title of the film to see the review and read more about it. My reviews are special in that I DO NOT GIVE AWAY IMPORTANT PLOT POINTS.

My reviews are not plot summaries like those of so many film critics. Instead, I try to focus on whether the movie is good or not, what I got out of it, some refresher points on who the actors and directors are, etc. I began this blog at the request of some friends who enjoyed my short reviews I’d email them during the summers. They enjoyed them so much, they asked me to start a movie review blog. So, I thought, “What good is a movie review blog that only has one or two reviews a week?” And, so, mine has at least 7 per week. Truth be told, I have reviewed 21 films in just 16 days because I have doubled up some days (those reviews are called bonus reviews). I also dedicate reviews to fans of my reviews and great people I know which is kind of cool. In any case, I believe you will find my reviews and my side-bar tirades on the movie industry interesting, informative, entertaining, and humorous. Please give my blog a try!

Had a lousy date lately? Great, please tell us about it. You’ll join the ranks of the gentleman who pooped his pants while trying to impress a date by leaping over a fence, the woman who thought her date had “salt and pepper hair”, but the “salt” part was dog hair! The guy who ended up with a burning matchhead searing into his privates (while driving and trying to look cool) .

The gal who’s date had an incredibly tiny head and of course the young lady who looks like Yasser Arafat (who wants to occupy that territory?) So if you want to amuse yourself at others misfortune or wish to add to our ever expanding inventory of horrible date stories, give us a visit at THEBADDATE.COM
