PostSecret is a community effort that allows people to have their secrets posted for everyone to see. Anyone can send in postcards of their secrets and have these posted in public for all to see.
So what is its purpose?
That those who have kept secrets and have had huge burdens because of these will have a venue to finally say what has been bothering them. I personally think that PostSecret has helped some finally let go of the burdens they had been carrying. It’s therapeutic for most, even though a lot of us may be shocked, as I was, initially.
It’s much like Rotten.com, but with a humane, poignant twist.
I could only hope this has brought healing. But for me it teaches me a lot:
That I am a very fortunate girl, still.
But it also makes me realize what a cruel world we live in.
