The LED Lighting Blog
The environment is something that we have been paying more attention to these past few years. I think that more people have turned their eyes on the saving and preserving of the environment more in the past 5 years than in the past decades combined. I suppose that this is because of the fact that the results of our neglect are finally becoming felt by many.
One aspect of helping the environment is saving power and one way of saving power is by using more efficient lighting. This is the idea behind The LED Lighting Blog. For those who are lost, LED stands for light emitting diode. These things are much more power efficient and have a lot of potential. To find out more, I suggest that you visit the blog.

I think LED’s are great I just wish they could get a better light out of them. I can’t wait until we are using LED’s for all of our lighting needs.

I would like to share that there are cutting edge lighting solutions other than those that are not being presented as an option.
As you probably know, the current SSL lights require more than one light to illuminate a room (and generally requires the installation of multiple new can light fixtures).
Lambent Vision is ahead of the curve and current LED lighting standards. They offer high lumen, 360 degree light fixtures that easily replace an existing fixture and they illuminate an entire room (Kitchen, bedroom, etc.). You wouldn’t know it was an LED unless you were told.
What can we do to make us all aware of the vast number of lighting options that are currently available?

There are some great LEDs out now, but many of them are still expensive. They will end up paying for themselves though. One very important thing to remember, and heed my warning, don’t buy cheap LEDs. They don;t last and the light quality isn’t good from the beginning.

I know that it won’t be long until all incandescence and fluorescent bulbs will be banned, the laws may have already passed. I also know there are a billion LED suppliers and products out on the market but many do not have any guaranty because either the LEDs are cheap and/or they know that they have not found a way to deal with the heat dispersion (which kills LEDs).
We have come out with a product that would be beneficial to commercial buildings, a two by two LED troffer that runs 30% more efficient than current fluorescent fixture and puts out more light. These range from 3,280 to 7,200 lumens and come with a 5 year warranty.
For more information you can see the ALT Page
Thanks,
Chris
