Many businesses have turned to blogging in order to reach out to their customers – both existing and potential. They have discovered the effectiveness of blogging as a way to provide more useful information to their market. Lightning Labels Blog is a great example of how a business uses this form of communication to share information.

In their blog, one can find out what the company does. The blog provides intensive information on how the company creates labels and why their method is much better than the traditional way of printing labels. More than this, however, the blog shares other bits of info that customers may find useful. From industry news to labeling basics to design to selling your products, this blog really packs a lot of info that adds value.

Tattoos used to be taboo. Much like so many things in life, however, ideas and perceptions have changed. When in the past, tattooed people were prone to discrimination, tattoos have now become some sort of a “coolness” symbol. I don’t have any tattoos, but I have to admit that I have been tempted to get one before. I guess that it really is a big commitment.

Anyhow, I still do like watching shows like LA Ink and looking at pictures of awesome tattoos. I stumbled upon a blog called Tattoo which talks about – you guessed it – tatts. It does not have as much information as I would have liked as there are only a few posts, but some of the photos of real tattoos make it worth a visit.

One of the ways entrepreneurs and artists can gain exposure today is by creating and maintaining a blog of their own. I particularly like blogs which are the extension of an artistic mind. Take for example Blogofo, a blog which showcases the portfolio of Canadian artist Owen Swain.

In this blog, you will see Swain’s sketches in every post. While I am no art expert, I have to say that the sketches sat well with me – very well actually, that I had to keep browsing his archives to see more. With each sketch, the blogger also writes some text that serves as a description. What makes it more interesting is the tidbit of info that the blogger-artist adds which may or may not be related to the sketch. It really is a very good blog to visit.

You may be thinking, who the heck is Janice Sullivan and why would I want to pay her blog a visit? Why not, I ask you back. Janice Sullivan runs a photography business specializing in macro and close up photographs. While the blog is definitely an extension of her business, an effort to gain more exposure for it, it also brings readers a lot of information that can be used on a daily basis.

Janice Sullivan’s Blog is a good example of what a business’ blog should be like. It offers tips and tricks on how to take close up pictures – what her business is all about. It does not force the business on people but instead provides useful information that just might convert readers into customers. Looking for info on macro photography? Pay this blog a visit and treat your eyes to some nice photos while you’re at it.

I have said it before, and I shall say it again – I don’t seem to have an artistic bone in this body of mine. Perhaps that is why I look at artists in a different light. They’re brilliant. They’re awesome. They’re so talented. I can’t help but admire them.

So this was my mindset as I got myself ready to go through the blog Vaka Design. I got ready to look through cool pairs of earrings, bracelets, and other accessories. I was not disappointed. This is one talented woman.

But I got more than I bargained for. I got laughs – lots of them! Vaka Design may primarily be a design blog, but Katherine (obviously the blogger) shares more than her art in it. She writes about her life and her family, and she has got a whole bunch of hilarious stories. You have to visit this blog to understand what I mean.

I once heard a saying to the effect that you have to have something to be passionate about in this world in order to live a life worth living. I never really put a lot of thought into it – I have always believed that I have enough passion in me. But if you think about it, a lot of people seem to have this passion for art, in whatever form. Perhaps art is one of the best subjects to be passionate about.

If art is what you love, then you might want to drop by Rowland’s Blog, “a place where all art is appreciated.” I have to warn you that it is very new – I only found posts from this month. However, if the blogger keeps it up, there might be something to it.

I am no art expert but I know a good picture when I see one. I can’t tell you all the technical aspects in a painting or a photograph but I do know how to appreciate the overall effect. And good paintings are what I saw in the blog Terry Krysak Artworks. The artist maintains this blog to showcase his work and I assure you, a lot of it looks pretty good.

A little background on the artist – he started drawing as a child on the floor in front of the TV. In his profile, he mentions taking his passion to another level by studying at The Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary, Alberta in 1971. Looks to me that the training has paid off. You should see the work for yourself.

When I first saw the e-mail from Ed Tajchman, the man behind the blog Modern Art Quotes, I thought that I would be in for a lot of quotes relating to art – past and present. I also thought that I would be way beyond my depth (I think that I have no creative bone in my body, seriously).

To my pleasant surprise, I was met with more than quotes. I found pictures (which I can definitely relate to) and other insights on art and culture. If you are into these things – and even if you are not – then this blog should be in your list.

I was browsing through the submission e-mails when I saw an interesting name – Bibi’s Box. The blog itself did not disappoint. It showcases various artwork, cartoons, and the like which I have never seen before. From political cartoons to posters to sculptures about culture, the blog’s content enthralled me. Looking for something different? Look inside Bibi’s Box.
