Owning my own house has been on my mind a lot lately.  We currently live in a rented flat and it suits our needs but I do know that in the future, I would want to have a house with a yard to boot.  Perhaps that is why I have been spending a considerable amount of time looking at web sites and blogs about homemaking.  Her Home Blog is one such blog – it is relatively new, only about 3 months old.  However, the posts are quite comprehensive and cover a wide range of topics such as materials for the floor, childproofing the house, and the like.

One of my greatest weaknesses is design and style. I love to look at beautiful and eclectic designs for the house – I know a good thing when I see one, but I don’t seem to have a talent to come up with my own ideas or put things together. That is why I appreciate such blogs as Daily Icon where you can get countless ideas for furnishing your home or office. There are tons of pictures which help a lot in stimulating your own creative juices. Believe me, if it worked for me somehow, it would do wonders for you as well!

It’s time for spring cleaning everyone!  I do not know about you, but I really am not very skilled nor talented when it comes to keeping the house clean.  I do like trying to do my own repairs sometimes, but that doesn’t mean that I am successful at them!  I have not really even attempted the more complicated DIY stuff at home but here’s a blog that gives you ideas and practical steps on how to spruce up your home.  My Smart Home is a DIY blog that offers cool ideas and tells you how to make them a reality.  The blog is fairly new so there aren’t that many posts yet but the potential is there.
