We have to admit it – many of us would rather laugh at the mishaps and misfortune of others than at ourselves. I suppose that is just how we are wired. There is even a German term for this: schadenfraude! I am sure you’ve heard of it – happiness at the misfortune of others.

I have said it before, and I shall say it again – I don’t seem to have an artistic bone in this body of mine. Perhaps that is why I look at artists in a different light. They’re brilliant. They’re awesome. They’re so talented. I can’t help but admire them.

So this was my mindset as I got myself ready to go through the blog Vaka Design. I got ready to look through cool pairs of earrings, bracelets, and other accessories. I was not disappointed. This is one talented woman.

But I got more than I bargained for. I got laughs – lots of them! Vaka Design may primarily be a design blog, but Katherine (obviously the blogger) shares more than her art in it. She writes about her life and her family, and she has got a whole bunch of hilarious stories. You have to visit this blog to understand what I mean.

Dating has always been one of the most popular topics for many people. It is true that it has not always been as widespread in other countries – especially in the East as compared to the West. Today, however, dating is prevalent all over the world and it comes in many forms as well! From speed dating to online dating, an “available” person can take his or her pick. Of course, dating involves romance as well as quirks that only relationships can bring about. It is relatively new, so do not expect a lot of content as of yet.

The past week has been a very stressful one at work for me and I am sure that many of you probably had very similar experiences.  When I am faced with this kind of situation, there is nothing more I would like to do during the weekend than to stay at home and recharge – well, maybe going to the beach (but that is not always possible).  Anyway, here I am doing exactly that and enjoying some funny cartoons at the blog A Place For Fun.  Some of the content is perhaps better for the younger generation but that does not keep the smiles away from my face.
