Sorlo

Sorlo is the personal blog of Kam Cheung, and just like many other personal blogs, you can find any topic under the sun in its pages. One notable thing about this blog is the choice of topics – while Kam Cheung definitely has the freedom to pick out any topic there is, the collection of “stories” are quite interesting. You can read about dogs and cats, laptop reviews, interesting videos, travel bits, book reviews, and more. Oh, and you might pick up a Chinese phrase or two as well!

I believe that it is the writing style of the blogger that adds a distinctive note to the blog. Blog entries are written with positivity shining through – something that you may be hard-pressed to find in this jaded world. You and I may not know Kam Cheung personally, but the blog is worth a visit. You never know, you might end up making a friend – or two!

Where the Nightbirds Settle

Isn’t that blog name just lovely? Where the Nightbirds Settle is the blog of Lisa Marie Bowman, who aims to celebrate the strength of women. At the same time, she does not overlook the (occasional) man who is noteworthy.

The blog has a LOT of content, ranging from poetry to videos to prose. I really enjoyed going through her poems – whether or not because I am a woman, I think it does not really matter. At the end of the day, it is one interesting blog about the life and thoughts of one woman who has got something to say. Come to think of it – that’s how personal blogs ought to be. Pay it a visit now, and tell us what you think!

Conversations with No One

Conversations with No One is a blog, written and maintained by Steven Cardinale. His tag line is “a rant about the daily trials of a human student,” and in his blog, he talks about everything and anything under the sun. From music to business to yoga to love to what he calls “Goldilocks moments,” you will find his writing style engaging. It’s just as if you were sitting across from him having coffee on a lazy weekend afternoon.

Readers will pick up a lot of insights from this blog – things that will make you think, things that you can make your own and apply to your life. This blog is definitely worth reading.

Jodi McIsaac Martens

Sometimes when browsing blogs, you come across one that seems to reach out to you for one reason or another. That’s how I felt when I visited Jodi McIsaac Martens’ blog. She is a writer by profession, and her skill shines through her personal blog. She describes herself as someone who has always wanted to be a writer, and she seems to be living her dream.

In this blog, you can read about her musings on just about any topic. From a tribute to fathers to her brother to her guilt complex – they’re all compelling posts. I think that all my explaining will not do her work any justice, so I suggest that you go visit her blog instead. You will see what I mean then.
