Being a single mom these days does not carry the stigma that it used to many decades ago. Indeed, there is much good to be said about the woman who can raise a kid (or more!) on her own. While I have to say that I still believe in the family as a whole unit, there are some circumstances wherein one cannot avoid being a single mother and I cannot help but admire those who are able to do so successfully.
Perhaps that is why I find the blog Single Mom In The City to be so interesting. Blogger Nicole Nicholson says that she does not consider herself as a “mom blogger,” and categorizes her blog as a personal journal. All I can say is that you are in for one interesting read about life in this blog.

Personal blogs are touch and go for me, most of the time. While I like visiting the personal blogs of people I know, or the personal blogs of my favorite authors and the like, visiting a new personal blog of an unknown person is not always a guarantee that I would like it.
One personal blog that proved to catch my interest is Project Dennio. While I did not know anything about the blogger before I read his submission e-mail, I found myself interested in reading more because of his blog description:
“The fifth rebirth of my blog. The ‘brighter’ side of life finally dawns on me. I’m now trying to move on - and I’m doing it by further rekindling his passion for writing. No more frustrations.”
There are insights to be found here, that much I can say.

One of my favorite pastimes is people watching. I remember when I was still in the university. I would go to this place we called The Lagoon. It was basically a swathe of lightly forested land with a pond in the middle. There were numerous paths where all sorts of people passed by. I would sit quietly with a book, read, watch people, and read some more.
There are times when this kind of activity leads you to knowledge or insights that you would never discover otherwise, and these insights give you a different sense of awe and peace. This is what I felt while browsing the pages of Average Mortal Radio, a blog that offers a look into the life of a person living in a small island community. I really cannot fully describe the feeling that you get from this blog. You should see for yourself.

Ever wonder how people manage to spend a lot of time traveling the world while at the same time live their daily life? Here is a blog that can give you a peek into the life of a man who does exactly that.
Mike Saunders hails from Wales and is currently studying to get his degree in Computer Science. When he is not in school, he travels to various destinations in Europe, Asia, and Australia. He shares his experiences in his blog through words and pictures. The blog can be considered a personal journal, in that it details events and happenings in the blogger’s life but at the same time, it deals a lot with his trips so it can serve as a mini-travel guide.

Personal blogs have evolved into more than reflections for the benefit of the blogger. A lot of people have personal blogs but not all of them are of the same quality. Naturally, some personal blogs may not be easy to relate to. Just About Anything, a personal blog of a woman from Davao in The Philippines, though, is quite interesting. Though there are a lot of posts of a personal nature, you can read about wonderful places to visit in her country. You can also read about other blogs as the blogger seems to be interested in reviewing other blogs as well.
