Remember what words? Human beings place great stock in the power of words. We have so many sayings and clichés that we encounter on a daily basis. For Christians, though, there is nothing more powerful than the words that come from God; the words written in the Bible. As such, meditating on God’s word is an inherent part of the Christian life.

Remember the Words is a blog that offers meditations and devotions that people can use to learn more about God. It also offers a lot of insights, again Bible-based, that can help people to apply spiritual principles to their daily lives. One good thing about this blog is that it is not all theory – there is a lot of practical information to be found here.

I don’t really think that I am a religious person, but I would like to think that I am in touch with my spiritual side. I grew up in the Christian faith and I do get a lot of strength and inspiration from reconnecting with it. Just the other day, while I was waiting for my turn at the doctor’s office, I realized just how much listening to devotions and spiritual musings help me.

Blogs like Washed By Water Through The Word could help when one needs such spiritual nourishment. Now I know that this is not for everyone, but those who share the same faith, or are at least open to reading about Christianity and its tenets, will certainly appreciate this blog. The blog is very text heavy but the insights are worth it.

Watching the news and reading it online sometimes gets sickening. After a while, you just get tired of all the violence, the illnesses, and all that negative stuff. It makes me think of that song “all the world needs now, is love, sweet love…” Cheesy, but theoretically, it is apt for our situation, isn’t it?

Anyhow, that’s what I was thinking about when I cam across the blog The Love Commandment. It is actually a spiritual-religious blog that offers a lot of insights on Biblical principles and how you can apply them in your life. I found the posts interesting, although I have a feeling that some people who are averse to all things “Christian” might not find the blog to their liking. All I can say is keep an open mind – you might just pick up something life changing.

Merriam Webster defines being wretched as “deeply afflicted, dejected, or distressed in body or mind.” I am pretty sure that you have felt this way at least once in your life. Perhaps you’ve even been in this state for a prolonged period of time. I know I have.

I guess that’s why the blog title of Wretched Christian Blog caught my attention. Yes, I am a Christian and yes, sometimes I feel wretched. And so I read some of the blog posts. They are quite interesting, focusing on how difficult it can be to have this faith in live as you are expected to. Some of the posts I find a bit preachy, but in general, the insights are pretty enlightening. Not for everyone, but definitely something for those who are looking to fill a gap in their lives.

Are you looking for some spiritual thoughts and insights? Then the blog Anointed Place may appeal to you. This blog focuses on the Gospel, and is written with a touch of genuineness.

I have to say that while I do have a strong religious background, I have had my issues growing up. This has resulted in a wariness to blogs, web sites, other materials, and even people who reek of a holier than thou attitude. While this blog certainly speaks of a lot of holy things, I did not really feel as if the writer were alienating those who are wary about religious things.

It does have a lot of insights to offer, and perhaps some of you may even find what you have been looking for. It is definitely worth a look see.

Anyhow, joking aside, this blog has lots – and I mean LOTS – of content. Zeb shares his thoughts and opinions about many things in life, always relating them to his faith.

While I do really admire bloggers like him, I have to say that this blog is not for everyone. There are people who would probably be turned off at the moment you mention “faith” or “religion,” and they probably would not appreciate this blog. If you are more open minded and you are seeking something spiritual, then bookmark this blog. You will find hours of reading material; I can assure you that!

In the last several years, it seems to me that spirituality has gotten more attention than it usually does. Perhaps it is due to the increasing awareness of man that there is something greater than himself. Perhaps it is because of the influence of movies and other media. Whatever the reason is, it is now more common to see and hear about people seeking for spiritual fulfillment.

Naturally, there are so many ways by which this can be attained and for The Blessed Bee, her spirituality lies in the idea that she is a Witch. In her blog of the same name, she is quick to point out that she is not a Wiccan. For those who are interested in these ideas, you might want to pay her blog a visit – you will be in for an interesting journey, to say the least.

Our time is rife with various religions and beliefs. There is no better time to discover your spiritual side than now. Though I am not pushing you to convert to a certain religion or to believe what I believe, I know that somewhere deep inside each of us, we have this desire to be fulfilled spiritually. If you are searching for something, nothing should stop you – there are so many things which you can learn if you only look.

If Kabbalah is one of those things that catches your interest, then you might want to take a look at Kabbalah Blog, which provides a lot of information. It is actually the blog of the Bnei Baruch Kabbalah Education & Research Institute and provides articles, videos, and audio all relating to Kabbalah.

Religion can be one of the most controversial topics that you can talk about these days. There are those camps who are in the extreme sides and it is never a good idea to bring them together – unless you want to watch some pretty explosive fireworks. I have my own personal beliefs and though I cannot classify myself as being extremist in any way, I do like reading up on some spiritual material that can be applied to real life.

That is why I was impressed with Nathan Creitz’s blog. It is all about Christ, the church, and culture. Reading the posts, I recognized a strong faith flowing through the words but I didn’t feel that the tone was too preachy. If you are looking for practical Christianity, try visiting this blog.
