We recently hired a new employee who impressed everyone involved in the recruitment process. His claim to fame? He is a certified MENSA member. That made me realize that despite all the talk about IQ not being everything, we really do look up to people with astronomical IQs.

But is IQ a product of nature or nurture? Is IQ more important than EQ? There has been a lot of discussion on this topic, and I don’t think it will ever end. One thing I do know is that we would all like to improve our mental capacity.

This is the premise behind the blog iCANiQ. What I like about this blog is that they focus on sharpening and honing the mind and not simply feeding you with trivia. It really is an interesting read.

My husband is crazy about cars. My dad is too. I guess I grew up around men who have this passion for cars and somehow, that passion was transferred to me. I may not be as crazy as they are about these motorized vehicles, but I do get really excited about them. Just last night, we spent a few hours watching our favorite car shows…

Anyhow, I found this blog about cars and nothing but cars. Titled Driver Side|Back Seat Driver, this blog is obviously written and maintained by someone who is very passionate about cars. From videos to text posts, you can find them here. Keep up to date with some of the coolest tidbits about cars today – visit this blog.

Merriam Webster defines being wretched as “deeply afflicted, dejected, or distressed in body or mind.” I am pretty sure that you have felt this way at least once in your life. Perhaps you’ve even been in this state for a prolonged period of time. I know I have.

I guess that’s why the blog title of Wretched Christian Blog caught my attention. Yes, I am a Christian and yes, sometimes I feel wretched. And so I read some of the blog posts. They are quite interesting, focusing on how difficult it can be to have this faith in live as you are expected to. Some of the posts I find a bit preachy, but in general, the insights are pretty enlightening. Not for everyone, but definitely something for those who are looking to fill a gap in their lives.

Who does not want to move up in life? After all, no one really wants to deliberately move down – it is human nature. We want to improve and live better lives. But some of us need more guidance than others. I think this is where Upward Lifestyle can help. This blog is about helping people who want to find a better path in life.

It focuses more on career choices and how to make a better living for one’s self. The blogger is Michael Shrader, who is a member of MENSA and currently works as a design engineer for a global automotive company. He also manages a private business which aims to study wealth – how to acquire and manage it. You just might pick up a gem or two in his blog!

These days, there seems to be more diseases than we can count. From physical to mental and emotional disorders, people seem to be getting more and more of them. Perhaps it is due to the changing environment we live in. Perhaps it is due to other reasons. Yet no matter what the reason may be, the fact remains that we need to find solutions to these problems.

Natural Cures is a blog that offers an alternative perspective to various diseases and disorders that exist today. From cancer to depression, this blog showcases cures that may be found in nature. While I understand that not everyone is “into” this thing, some of you might find what you are looking for. The blog is relatively new, so do not expect tons of content yet. I am hoping that there will be more in the future, though.

Of the countries in the East, Japan is perhaps one of the most sought after destinations. This is really not a surprise as the Japanese have made a name for themselves all around the world. From wonderful food (who can’t help but fall in love with sushi?) to an interesting culture (countless people are enamored with anime and manga, among other things) to cutting edge technology (PlayStation!) – Japan has certainly a lot to offer. No wonder that this country receives millions of visitors year in and year out.

When planning a trip to Japan, there is a myriad of resources available to you online. One of the best I have encountered so far is the Team JAPANiCAN Staff Blog. This is actually a companion blog to the main web site, JAPANiCAN. In the blog, you get to read first person accounts of tours, offers, and other interesting bits of information about Japan. Do not expect general information in this blog – you will only get to read about specific details about various things, activities, and regions.

The Team JAPANiCAN Staff Blog is a very well-written blog. Whether you already know a lot about Japan or you have no idea what to find there, you will definitely find this blog helpful. Not only can you read posts about the country and its culture, but you can also search for hotels and tours from within the blog. It is like a travel guide and booking site combined into one. The next time you need to look something up about Japan, this blog should be your first destination online.

Not every girl I know feels the need to be in a relationship. Indeed, some of the most successful women I know are content to be single and carry on with their lives. Still, there are rare moments when they say that perhaps, when the time comes, they will find themselves in a meaningful relationship with the opposite sex. The rest of the women in my circle, well, we live a life of sweetness and bitterness thrown together in one pot – because of relationships.

So what is an “It” girl? Visit Dear “It” Girl to find out! This is the blog of Rachel Russo, a psychotherapist at Marriage & Family Therapy of NY. She has years of experience in this job and considers herself an “It” girl as well. Now I got ya hooked, haven’t I? I am sure you’ll find plenty of reading material in this blog.

The theory of evolution continues to be one of the most controversial theories of all time, and why not? After all, it deals with the origins of man and this kind of topic is always sure to spark a debate. Whether or not you think this theory holds water, one thing we would probably agree on is the fact that people evolve – change, if you wish – over time.

You are not the same person you were 10 years ago, neither am I. Part of this constant change is learning, scrutinizing, and thinking. With information so easy to have these days, change is even more possible and can happen more quickly. Just take a look at this blog, The Evolving Mind, and you will understand how you can change, just by acquiring bits of knowledge here and there. There really is a lot to read here – the topics are so varied but the overall effect is quite interesting.
